they call the social safety net socialism. aren't fire and police, water and electric infrastructure all socialism? they say that socialism is only control of the means of production and that would mean none of those things are socialism. I thought socialism was collecting private resources for the public good. that would make pretty much all government socialism.

some people are saying "the US is a republic and not a democracy."

the definition of republic is:"a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch."

the definition of democracy is:"a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.".

you know what's communist? public roads.

by the way i have some jokes. I have a degree but i lost it. I can show you the bill and you can imagine how smart I am. haha. self deprecating humor. here's another one. they sent my job to China but now they are afraid the Chinese are better at my job. Ha Ha on them that time.
